The weather may not have been that hot, but the same can’t be said about Tim and Mike’s Chilli Wheat Ale!.
That beer was definitely one of the talking points at this year’s Fools and Fans, and while not everyone was brave enough to sink a pint (or even a half!) the punters all agreed that it was a great beer.
Lots of Friends in attendance as well as the usual selection of Fools and Fans, and although we can’t show pictures of blue sky this year, the rain stayed away and it was just about warm enough to give everyone the necessary thirst.
The ‘Beer Bus’ from Cape Town may have been late arriving (bringing Hester with it!) but the passengers soon made up for lost time and there were plenty of excellent beers to choose from.
The Friday Beer Judging was particularly well organised and the Homebrew Clubs had their usual wide range of beers for everyone to taste and appreciate. And judging by the state of some people on Saturday morning, the beers had been much appreciated.
We even had time to discuss the plans for this month’s Shakesbeer Day. Tim and Phil modelling our exclusive limited-edition T-shirts which will be available on the 27th.
If you have never been to this iconic event in Greyton, then why not make a weekend of it in 2025. We’ll be there along with beer, food, great music and sunshine (at least the first three can be guaranteed).
